The Cal Poly Pomona Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) will present its 12th Annual Research Showcase on Thursday, Oct. 4 from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at AGRIscapes. The showcase will feature on-campus scientists and research projects that are sponsored by ARI.

The event will highlight research by faculty, staff and students to improve agriculture in California. The showcase will include a poster session and oral presentations.

“The ARI is now 13 years old and is well established on this campus. We have successfully expanded our research by recruiting faculty outside the College of Agriculture to bring their unique talents and science to address problems faced by agriculture in California,” says Professor David Still, ARI campus coordinator. “We invite all faculty who may wish to get involved in agriculture research to attend the showcase to get a better idea of how they might contribute. Research monies are increasingly difficult to obtain, and this might be a good avenue for some faculty. ”

California is, by far, the nation’s leading producer and exporter of agricultural products. To benefit the state’s agriculture industry and consumers, ARI sponsors applied agricultural research. Through a competitive grant program, it provides public funds that are matched by industry or federal research resources to support high-impact agricultural research development and technologies that are readily transferable to industry.

For more information about the showcase, contact Andrea Struve at (909) 869-3637 or amfrontino@csupomona.edu, or visit www.csupomona.edu/~ari.
