Some Power Interruptions for Electrical Repairs this Weekend

Power will be temporarily disrupted to several of buildings Saturday for critical electrical repairs. The outages will occur sometime between 9 a.m. and noon, Sept. 1, and power may be interrupted from 30 minutes to an hour.

The affected buildings are:

  • Biotechnology (4)
  • Rain Bird BioTrek Learning Center (4A)
  • College of Environmental Design (7)
  • Temporary classrooms (24 A-F)
  • Union Plaza (26)
  • Bronco Student Center (35)
  • Swine Unit (37)
  • Sheep Unit (38)
  • Foundation Administration Offices (55)
  • Residential Suites (60, 61, 62 and 63)
  • Bronco Bookstore (66)
  • Kellogg West (76A and 78)
  • Children’s Center (116)
  • Central Plant (193)

The electrical work is scheduled to be completed by late Saturday afternoon.

An electrical short on Aug. 30 affected a high-voltage feeder near Kellogg West, causing an electrical disruption on the southwest end of campus. Facilities management restored power within a few hours by using temporary measures to most of the affected buildings. Only a portion of Kellogg West remained without power. The weekend power shutdown will allow staff to perform the necessary repairs.

For questions in advance regarding the shutdown, contact facilities management at (909) 869-3030. Over the weekend, calls should be directed to University Police at (909) 869-3070.
