Transitioning our Veterans Workshop
The Post-9/11 G.I. Bill, effective fall 2009, opens up greater access for student veterans to pursue higher education. To better understand the unique needs of our veterans, the President’s Veterans Services Initiative will hold a workshop called “Students Who Served: Transitioning our Veterans” on Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Bronco Student Center, Ursa Minor. Featured speakers include Harold F. Martin, associate professor of psychology at Pasadena City College, and Pat O’Rourke, director of Veterans University at California State University Long Beach. The program will also include student panelists. RSVP at https://cpp-cfm.symplicity.com/events/studentveterans |
CAPS Workshops and Presentations
Due to lean staffing, overwhelming demand for counseling and the impact of furloughs, CAPS is scaling back its Outreach Education offerings. Counselors have limited time to customize presentations or develop unique topics, so those requests can no longer be accommodated. For the 2009-10 Menu of Options, visit http://dsa.csupomona.edu/caps/outreachservices.asp |
Yoga Classes
The Yoga Alliance invites students, faculty and staff to its yoga classes on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 5 p.m. in Orion AB, Bronco Student Center. The quarterly membership for students fee is $15 to attend once a week and $20 twice a week. For faculty and staff, the quarterly cost is $30 to attend once a week and $35 for twice a week. For more information, email yoga@csupomona.edu |
Environmental Health & Safety Department Closures
The Environmental Health & Safety Department will be open on furlough Fridays to provide environmental and safety services to the university.
