Business Professor Publishes Three Scholarly Articles
Majed Muhtaseb, a professor in the finance, real estate and law department, has published three scholarly articles in the last half of 2012.
Muhtaseb published “Hedge Funds Are the Alternative Mainstream” in the summer edition of Journal of Investing.
Two recent Cal Poly Pomona MBA graduates collaborated with Muhtaseb on articles and received hands-on learning in academic research. Eric Colborn (’09) co-authored “Neutrality of Equity Market Neutral Strategy to Index and Period,” which will appear later this month in the Journal of Derivatives and Hedge Funds. Muhtaseb also worked with Karampreet Grover (’11), in publishing “Hedge Fund Activism: Cases, Analysis and Corporate Governance” in the August edition of International Journal of Disclosure and Governance.
Muhtaseb also contributed test questions for the March 2013 Chartered Investment Analyst Association (CAIA) Level II exam. The CAIA offers a globally recognized charter for professionals in the finance industry.
